The greatest challenge of our time is addressing the root
causes of global warming. A recent U.N. study concludes that
current land-use practices of agrochemical farming account
for 23% of ALL greenhouse gas emissions - with less than
60 years remaining of degrading topsoils!
The widespread use of agrochemical applications
has steadily been destroying the microbial cultures
that keep the airborne carbons in check. How do we
move past high-impact chemical farming and
create healthier ways of growing our foods?
What if we could produce healthier, more nutritious
organic foods in higher volumes for a lower price than
chemically grown foods? Important new discoveries are
being made in the field of "regenerative agriculture" by
restoring the resilience and fertility of the topsoils.
The key component to making regenerative agricul-
ture successful is the ability to increase the "fungal-to-
bacterial ratio", which detoxifies the soil, nourishes the
root systems, restores the soil foodweb, reduces the
irrigation needs, and optimizes carbon capture.
In 1983, Robert Rodale introduced the concept of
“regenerative agriculture” as a superior means of
improving the soil’s productivity by increasing
and diversifying the biological activity.
Regenerative agriculture describes farming
and grazing practices that are designed to rebuild
degraded soil biodiversity – resulting in both airborne
carbon drawdown and improved water cycle.
In 2012, the Rodale Institute secured the services of
Dr. Elaine Ingham as their chief research scientist - who
originated the concept of “soil foodweb health manage-
ment" as a prescription for optimizing productivity.
As a leading soil biologist, Dr. Ingham took a step
forward in 2019 and launched the Soil Foodweb School
“to help farmers restore the soil biology, increase their
profits, and to grow food in harmony with nature.”
Living Earth will employ highly skilled field technicians
to work directly with growers to provide step-by-step training services. Expert guidance will be provided
by our specialty biological research teams.
As each farmsite scenario is unique, thorough onsite
testing will determine the best courses of action based
on climate zones, nutrient density, soil quality, crop criteria, and other pertinent variables.
In the earliest stages, Living Earth will provide all the onsite training and research services FREE OF CHARGE
to qualifying agrochemical farmers until growing demand progressively merits at-cost fees.
Once farmers discover that regenerative systems
are far more productive, we anticipate that organic
foods will become less expensive than chemically
grown, thus making the older systems obsolete!
